Standards & Guidelines
WCAG 2.1 Level AA
We align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, an internationally
recognized standard for web accessibility developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
WCAG is organized around four principles, known as POUR:

Perceivable
Content can be seen or heard in different ways. Information is presented in multiple formats and with sufficient contrast.

Operable
Users can navigate and interact with the site using a keyboard, mouse, or assistive technology.

Understandable
Information and interface controls behave predictably and are easy to comprehend.

Robust
Content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies and web browsers.

Accessibility Features & Practices
Site Design & Content
- Clear heading structure: Logical H1-H6 hierarchy and semantic HTML markup
- Consistent navigation: Predictable layouts and navigation patterns across pages
- Sufficient color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Resizable text: Text can be enlarged up to 200% without loss of functionality or content
- Alternative text: Meaningful images include descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked as such
- Accessible link labeling: Links have descriptive text; generic labels like "click here" are avoided or contextualized
- Skip navigation links: "Skip to main content" links allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation
Forms & Interactive Elements
- Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels and clear instructions
- Error identification: Errors are communicated with text, not color alone, and include suggestions for correction
- Keyboard operability: All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using only a keyboard
- Visible focus indicators: Keyboard focus is clearly visible and never removed with CSS
- Modal focus management: Modals and drawers trap focus correctly and can be closed with the Escape key
- ARIA landmarks and labels: Appropriate ARIA attributes enhance screen reader navigation
Media & Documents
- Video captions: Videos include captions or transcripts where applicable
- Accessible PDFs: New PDFs are created with accessibility in mind (tagged structure, proper reading order)
- Text alternatives: Critical information is not presented solely within images
Additional Considerations
- No motion-only content: We avoid content that relies solely on motion or timing
- Accessible PDFs: New PDFs are created with accessibility in mind (tagged structure, proper reading order)
- High contrast mode compatibility: Our site works with browser and OS high contrast modes
Ongoing Efforts & Continuous Improvement
Additional Considerations
We use a multi-layered approach to identify and fix accessibility issues:
- Automated scanning: Accessibility checks integrated into our development workflow
- Manual testing: Keyboard-only navigation testing on every page and feature
- Screen reader testing: Spot checks with popular screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) for critical workflows
- Contrast and zoom testing: Verification at 200%+ text sizing and various contrast settings
- Periodic audits: Internal and external accessibility audits conducted regularly
- User testing: Feedback from users with disabilities to identify real-world barriers
Remediation Process
When accessibility issues are identified, we follow a structured remediation process:
Triage & Prioritization: We assess severity (blocker, major, minor) and impact on user experience
Assignment: Issues are assigned to the appropriate product or engineering team
Fix & Validation: Solutions are implemented and tested for effectiveness
Training & Governance
- Design and engineering teams receive guidance on accessibility best practices
- Accessibility checkpoints are included in our release quality assurance process
- We maintain an internal accessibility knowledge base and resources
Known Limitations
Transparency & Honesty
We acknowledge that accessibility is a continuous journey, not a destination. While we strive to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, some areas of our website may not yet fully comply.
Current Limitations
- Legacy content: Some older pages or archived content may not meet current accessibility standards. We are working to identify and update these pages.
- Third-party components: Some embedded third-party tools (maps, social feeds, analytics dashboards) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control. We work with vendors to improve these where possible.
- PDF documents: Older PDF documents may lack proper tagging and structure. We prioritize remediation based on usage and user feedback.
- Complex data visualizations: Some charts and graphs may not yet have fully accessible text alternatives. We are improving these progressively.
Our Approach to Improvement
- We prioritize fixes for barriers that prevent core tasks (navigation, information access, form submission)
- We actively remediate reported issues and address the most impactful problems first
- We welcome reports that help us identify issues we may have missed
- We commit to transparency about limitations and realistic timelines for improvements
What to Include in Your Report
To help us address your concern quickly, please provide:
- The web page URL where you encountered the issue
- A description of the problem or barrier

- Your browser and operating system
- Your contact information if you'd like a response
